Online retail sales up another 30% vs. year ago, comScore reports
Online retail spending has continued its strong upward trend the first week in August, growing 30% to $869 million for the week ending Aug. 3 vs. $667 million for the corresponding week a year ago, comScore Networks Inc.’s Media Metrix division reports.
Total retail sales for the week ending Aug. 2 grew of 2.9% vs. the same week a year ago, according to ShopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate. It was the 14th consecutive week of year-over-year growth, ShopperTrak reports.
Online travel sales were also strong that week, up 30% to $985 million from $757 million the same week a year ago, comScore reports.
