Perfume.com triples sales on Monday vs. year ago


Perfume.com`s sales tripled on Monday, the kick-off day for online holiday shopping, compared to the same day a year ago, the company reports. Sales that day reached $14,800 vs. $4,900 last year.

The company says the increased sales were the result of improved search engine optimization and a growing client base which has a higher response rate to its e-mail offers. The company says it also benefits from the overall surge in online retail as consumers grow ever more comfortable buying online.

Perfume.com sells discount perfume and cologne to the U.S. and U.K. markets. It is part of the Communicate.com family of web sites.
