WH Smith is Flying - in Realtime; Implements Tomax Retail.net(R) Software in Airport Stores
SALT LAKE CITY, May 20 -- Tomax Corporation and WH Smith are pleased to announce the implementation of the Retail.net realtime store solution. Store locations at Boston Logan and Las Vegas McCarren airports are live today, with continuing rollout to airports served by WH Smith across the country, including Chicago O`Hare and Atlanta Hartsfield.
WH Smith is one of the world`s largest airport retailers, with over 180 locations in the United States alone. The Retail.net store solution enables WH Smith to view activity at these stores in realtime: transactions occurring at each POS workstation are resolved at a single, centrally hosted application and server environment.
"We`re excited by the efficiency, speed and scalability of the Retail.net solution. Removing all those computers, databases and applications from our stores makes WH Smith faster, more responsive to our customers, and dramatically easier to manage," said Adam Roark, Chief Operating Officer of WH Smith. "We can now implement promotions in realtime, instantly react to changes in market conditions, and evaluate results as they happen. It`s a whole new way of doing business."
"With this new implementation WH Smith sets a new standard of associate productivity and customer service, while reducing the IT infrastructure in their airport locations across North America," said Eric Olafson, President and CEO of Tomax.
