Manhattan Associates Announces Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail
Solution Provides Retailers with Comprehensive Retail-Specific Supply Chain Execution Solution
ATLANTA – January 12, 2004 - Manhattan Associates®, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH), the global leader in providing supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, today announced its Integrated Logistics Solution strategy for fulfilling the specific SCE needs of various vertical markets. As a part of this strategy, Manhattan Associates has outlined in further detail its Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail, a new retail-specific solution that utilizes the modules of its SCE applications to create a comprehensive offering to manage the movement of goods from source to consumption. This unique offering addresses key SCE issues for retailers in the areas of trading partner, warehousing, and transportation management, including:
· Managing inbound capacity and visibility from suppliers to retail stores;
· Managing yard operations;
· Addressing revised Hours-of-Service federal regulations; and
· Addressing reverse logistics management.

Manhattan Associates` Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail is composed of business objects from the company’s three primary application suites – Trading Partner Management (TPM), Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Supported by common event management and performance management applications, Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail is designed to address the entire retail SCE lifecycle. The solution addresses retail-specific SCE issues such as supplier integration, import supply chain visibility, reverse logistics management, and RFID.
Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail contains several applications that can be delivered to meet retailers needs as stand-alone applications or as an integrated suite. As a result of this integrated modular approach to the solution, retailers can realize operational benefits without being required to use all SCE applications from a single solution provider.
Rounding out the Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail offering, Manhattan Associates has added a new module, Load Management, to address appointment scheduling and yard management operations. Load Management will enable retailers to increase the throughput and efficiency of their receiving and shipping processes. With features such as a web interface for carrier appointment collaboration, Radio Frequency tasking for yard movements, and graphic visibility into real-time yard status, users of Load Management will realize improved yard asset utilization, reduced transportation costs, and increased warehouse efficiency.
