Blue Martini Messages@POS Delivers Personalized Marketing Messages to Customers in the Store to Drive Same Store Sales, Loyalty and Increase Frequency of Store Visits
NRF ANNUAL CONFERENCE, NEW YORK, Jan. 12 -- At the National Retail Federation`s annual conference today, Blue Martini Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:BLUE) announced the availability of Messages@POS, an in-store, intelligent selling application for retailers. Messages@POS delivers personalized marketing messages to customers at the point-of-sale (POS) or to any interactive touchpoint throughout a store. Targeted marketing messages in the store can increase same store sales, customer wallet share, basket size, customer loyalty, and bounce back visits.
With Messages@POS, retailers can promote cross category shopping, store events, new merchandise, and special offers to deliver significant additional revenue. For example, if a retailer with $1 billion in revenue and a $100 average purchase size successfully compels 10% of its customers to return for an additional visit and gets 10% of its customers to buy one additional item in another department, then this translates into more than $150 million in incremental revenue.
According to "Building Smarter Stores," an August 2002 report by Forrester Research, retailers armed with better customer data, and the devices to act on that data, can optimize marketing and merchandising to key segments. The next step, according to Forrester, is extending this segmented marketing to POS systems that offer personalized offers and cross-selling opportunities.
Blue Martini Messages@POS enables targeted messages by customer segment, store, region, and message type, and triggers real time messages resulting from customer events such as purchasing a particular brand or spending a certain amount. Messages@POS delivers customer messages to Java and non-Java POS systems, printed receipts, kiosks, signature capture devices, sales associates, or any interactive device in a store.
