A new auction site for retailers with excess computer inventory

The ASCII Group Inc., a network of independent computer dealers, and Bid4Assets Inc., an asset disposition and advisory company, have launched ASCII Auction, a private online auction site for ASCII members and their vendor partners at http://www.asciiauction.com.

Powered by Bid4Assets, ASCII Auction offers computer resellers, distributors and manufacturers a site to sell end-of-life product and excess inventory while reducing channel conflict. First, assets will be offered for sale in a private online auction to other ASCII members. If bidding doesn't meet the desired price set by the seller, assets will become available in a public online auction on the Bid4Assets web site at http://www.bid4assets.com.

"We are pleased to provide our members and vendor partners with a channel-friendly means to sell excess inventory and end-of-life product," said Jill Kerr, president of ASCII. "With reduced transaction fees, full service support and exposure to a network of buyers, this is an ideal sales solution for computer resellers."

The ASCII Group represents independent computer resellers. It has more than 2,000 members in North America with sales of $10.5 billion. ASCII provides its members with business technology, products and services.

Bid4Assets provides online and on-location auctions and advisory services such as appraisal, valuation, inventory, audit, shipping, logistics, marketing and settlement.
