Timera Forecasting and Scheduling Solution Selected By Réno-Dépôt
Enterprise Workforce Management modules improve customer and employee satisfaction
IRVING, Texas - (June 9, 2003) - Timera, Inc. announces that Réno-Dépôt, a Quebec-based home improvement and renovation leader, has licensed the forecasting and scheduling modules of the Timera® Enterprise Workforce Management (EWM™) system for all company retailing operations.
Founded more than 65 years ago, Réno-Dépôt had been using a manual approach to building schedules prior to adoption of the Timera forecasting and scheduling solution. The process was time-consuming and did not maximize the use of existing sales and market place data, resulting in a less than optimal schedule.
Réno-Dépôt is implementing key aspects of the EWM system as a means of further enhancing both associate satisfaction and customer experience. The retailer currently has 20 stores and more than 6,000 associates in Quebec and Ontario. The warehouses have an average retail space of 125,000 square feet including 30,000 square feet of greenhouse and gardening space.
According to Christine Beaulieu, vice president of information technology for Réno-Dépôt, both the philosophy and approach to scheduling that Timera`s EWM solution provides is critical to the company`s success.
"The home improvement and renovation space is one of the few retailing sectors in which the customer often interacts with personnel on the store floor before making their purchase decisions. As a result, it`s essential that we match the skills and
experiences of Réno-Dépôt associates throughout our stores with the number and type of customers that we expect to serve at any given time, using a single, consistent process," said Beaulieu. "The Timera forecasting and scheduling modules allow us to include a wide range of customer and associate considerations in arriving at the best possible schedule."
Increasing forecasting and scheduling accuracy, enhancing the match between employee presence and customer demand, and improving associate satisfaction with their schedules are key goals of most of Timera`s customers, indicated Purna Mishra, senior vice president of retail solutions for Timera.
"We applaud Réno-Dépôt`s leadership in recognizing the advantages of technology in the highly competitive home improvement warehouse space," said Mishra. "Implementing the forecasting and scheduling modules of our EWM solution helps Réno-Dépôt`s turn raw data and intuition into functional information in a timely and effective manner, applied using a single standard across all stores."
Réno-Dépot has completed implementation of the forecasting and scheduling solution in seven home centers and currently is implementing the tools in an eighth store. The company is slated to have the system operational in the balance of Réno-Dépôt`s 20 retail facilities by April, 2004.
"The new knowledge about both customer demands and associate skill sets enables us to better identify departments within specific stores in which we have the opportunity to add new staff with certain types of knowledge and experience. Using this information, we can hire the best possible associates for our needs, both now and in the future" said Beaulieu. "This strategic approach reflects the close working relationship that we`ve built with Timera, the type of relationship that truly functions as a strong partnership."
