Toy Retailers Get In On Back-To-School Kick

SmarterKids.com and eToys are touting back-to-school supplies on their toy web sites. Smarterkids.com, which sells educational toys based on childrenâsâ ages and parentsâ preferences, is featuring school supplies for preschool through grade nine. Categories include notebooks and folders, writing supplies, paper, backpacks, lunch totes and planners, among other items. The on-staff teachers also created Back-To-School Essentials Kits and Fun Kits, containing grade-appropriate tools for school, which cost 25% to 30% cheaper than purchasing the individual items.

eToys today opened its Back-To-School Shop, that offers 750 school products and grade-based learning tips for the school year. Parents can shop by grade or category. Products for sale include backpacks, computer software, workbooks and electronic learning aids. The store also has a ãWhatâs Hot In The Schoolyardä section, where parents can learn about popular toy items.
