Office Depot gets new marketing chief
Delray Beach, FL-based Office Depot Inc. has named Jocelyn Carter-Miller as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Her duties will include marketing efforts across e-commerce, retail, contract and catalog businesses. She will oversee all the strategic, operational and financial aspects of the company`s multi-channel marketing programs, advertising, direct mail and other special marketing initiatives. She formerly was corporate vice president and chief marketing officer of Motorola Inc. Carter-Miller succeeds Mike Haaf, former executive vice president of marketing.
Before joining Motorola, Carter-Miller worked at Mattel Inc. for eight years in various marketing positions including Vice President, Marketing and Product Development.
Chief marketing officer is a newly created position that reflects Office Depot’s focus on marketing for 2002. “In 2002 we are turning our efforts to a more aggressive focus on attracting and retaining business customers across all channels,” Bruce Nelson, chairman and CEO of Office Depot, said. “Jocelyn brings with her a wealth of knowledge and almost twenty years of experience in how to speak to customers and attract, retain and grow profitable relationships.”
