Office Depot launches Irish web site

Office Depot Inc. is continuing its winning global strategy. Today it launched a web site serving Ireland, its 15th web site in 10 countries outside the U.S. The site will operate under the Viking Office Products brand, an Office Depot subsidiary, at www.vikingdirect.ie.

Office Depot has been selling in Ireland since 1994. It says the new web site will take advantage of both the customer base in Ireland as well as the merchandising, warehousing and distribution infrastructure that it has built since that time.

Office Depot’s worldwide e-commerce revenue last year reached $1.6 billion and account for 14.3% of Office Depot’s total revenue. The company expects e-commerce revenue to reach $2 billion this year.
