American Software Introduces e-SPS 2003 for Retailers, Apparel Manufacturers, Brand Managers, Importers
ATLANTA, GA (June 18, 2003) – American Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMSWA) announced today that New Generation Computing Inc. (NGC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Software, introduced the 2003 version of e-SPS, Web-based strategic sourcing software that provides retailers, apparel manufacturers, brand managers and importers with end to-end visibility and the remote management of global production processes.
The new version of e-SPS features enhanced user functions and reporting capabilities with its 11 software modules: e-Product Development, e-RFQ’s & Bids, e-Pre Production, e-Production Tracking, e-Collaboration, e-Pack, e-Shipment Tracking, e-Exceptions, e-Quality, e-Executive Information Systems and Reporting, and Event Tracking and Management System. Using e-SPS, sourcing executives and vendors can exchange production data and complete steps in the production process, including product-development tasks, in real time via the Internet.
“Sourcing executives are cutting back their travel to Asia and other regions where their own production facilities or vendors are located,” said Alan Brooks, president of NGC. “We developed e-SPS 2003 with this in mind and expect to build on the success we’ve already experienced in the retail and apparel manufacturing sectors. The demand for e-SPS continues to rise as companies learn of the immediate ROI that major retailers and apparel manufacturers have enjoyed using our product.”
Current e-SPS users include Wilsons Leather, Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. (NYSE: DKS), Ralph Lauren Childrenswear and Kellwood Company.
