TeaLeaf IntegriTea Manages Web Application Integrity for Hardware and Home Improvement Divisions` Business Sites
San Francisco, CA, June 23, 2003 - TeaLeaf Technology®, the pioneer in Web application management, today announced the addition of The Black & Decker Corporation to its rapidly growing list of customers. The global manufacturer and marketer of power tools and accessories will initially use TeaLeaf IntegriTea throughout its Hardware and Home Improvement (HHI) segment operation. The software will be used to manage Web application integrity of HHI`s four core businesses, thus ensuring that business applications are performing as expected and enhancing the overall effectiveness of Black & Decker`s HHI sites.
The application development team is charged with building and supporting HHI`s core business informational and eCommerce Web sites, as well as The Black and Decker Corporation intranet site. The individually maintained businesses that will benefit from using TeaLeaf IntegriTea include Price Pfister Inc., a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial plumbing products; Bach, a modern classical lavatory faucet manufacturer; Kwikset, America`s largest security hardware business; and Society Brass, a division of Kwikset dedicated to manufacturing high-end door hardware.
"We are an extremely busy group, with responsibilities spread among several different businesses," said Jeff Kuckenbaker, manager of eBusiness for Black & Decker`s Application Development Team. "When an application issue arises, we need to perform triage immediately. IntegriTea provides us with the capability to identify and diagnose application failures in real-time. Problems that used to take us days and weeks to even identify, with IntegriTea now take only a matter of minutes or hours. Furthermore, IntegriTea gives us the upper hand, allowing us to be more proactive than ever before in solving problems."
According to Kuckenbaker, his group saw immediate value in TeaLeaf IntegriTea. On the very first session run, the group was able to identify errors to a newly developed application poised to go into production. Errors had shown previously, but Kuckenbaker`s team had no visibility into where the errors were coming from, or the context in which the errors occurred. Within moments of installing IntegriTea, the group was able to identify the source of the problem and get working on a fix.
"We had very high expectations of IntegriTea prior to our installation," added Kuckenbaker. "For example, we expected to see the return on our investment in approximately nine months. In fact, with IntegriTea we can measure ROI in a matter of days and weeks rather than months or years."
"TeaLeaf IntegriTea is ideal for those forward-thinking companies who want to be proactive in solving business and technology problems," said TeaLeaf Technology CEO Frank Vaculin. "The Black & Decker Corporation, a company synonymous with quality and high-standards, is not only improving the effectiveness of their overall Web operations with our technology, they are streamlining their entire IT business."
