Coldwater Creek accelerates its e-commerce plans
Coldwater Creek announced today that the multi-channel retailer has placed all catalog
merchandise online at coldwatercreek.com, reaching the goal of offering its
entire catalog product line on its e-commerce site more than a month ahead of
schedule.
The company's Internet Division, formed in April, completed the first
phase of Internet upgrades by increasing outlet items from approximately
70 selections to more than 600 in June. As previously announced, the latest
upgrade was originally scheduled for completion at the end of August.
Today the company also announced plans to add live customer service
technology to the e-commerce site -- a feature that is slated to launch in
November, just in time for the Christmas rush. Coldwatercreek.com customers,
via a live text-based chat session, will be able to communicate in real-time
with a Coldwater Creek customer service representative at the click of a
button.
Along with tying into Coldwater Creek's core competencies on the customer
service level, on-line orders will be shipped from the company's distribution
centers in Idaho and West Virginia. The combined facilities have a total
capacity to ship up to 120,000 orders a day.
