Ecometry Announces Strong Growth - 7 New Sales in 7 Weeks

Robust Software System for Multi-Channel Marketers Boasts One New Sale per Week for 2004

DELRAY BEACH, FL (February 19, 2004) Ecometry, the premier provider of software for multi-channel and direct commerce companies, announced today that it has been signing contracts for its Ecometry Commerce Suite at a rate of one per week since the New Year. Ecometry President, John Marrah, pointed out, “These new customers are truly new business – not subsidiaries or divisions of existing clients. This is a great way to start off 2004! We have been very successful in new customer acquisition over the past few years, but seven new customers in seven weeks, following a very strong 2003, is a positive sign of the recovering economy and a testimony to the competitive strength of our Open Systems based solution. Many of these recent Ecometry customers are retail companies that realize the benefit of a fully integrated multi-channel system for retail-POS, ecommerce and catalog sales – all focused around the customer.” The seven companies that purchased the Ecometry Commerce Suite in the past seven weeks are: Team Cheer, American Botanical, ABC Target, Enstrom Candies, BabyAge, Fairy Tale Brownies and American Science & Surplus.

Marrah noted that Ecometry is enjoying a client acquisition rate of over 50% of all new business in the industry and he projects this trend to continue. He added, “This is all a part of our vision for Ecometry – our master plan is now coming to fruition. The decision we made a few years ago to move Ecometry toward open systems has proven to be a good one. The economy is on an upswing and we’re well prepared for it!” When asked reasons for the increase in sales, Marrah cited, “Forward looking companies are choosing Open Systems based platforms like Microsoft Windows SQL Server 2000 or Oracle as their enterprise solution, and they are attracted to the overall lower cost of ownership, in comparison with older proprietary systems.”

Ecometry also announced the migration of five of its MPe based customers to the new Open Systems version of Ecometry. Marrah stated, ”The investment we made to automate the migration process has paid off. We have been very successful in migrating existing customers to a better platform for little cost, with minimal requirements for Ecometry resources.”

Over the past three years Ecometry has invested 24% of its revenue into developing the Open Systems versions of Ecometry for Windows and Unix. Recently, to speed this development, the company temporarily increased its software engineering staff by 50%, while also overhauling and enhancing over 70% of its hardware. Marrah added, “It has been a company-wide push to provide our customers with a superior solution for years to come.”

“All this sales activity and interest in Windows has generated significant attention from Microsoft,” stated Ecometry Chief Technology Officer, Michael Zammuto. He noted that Microsoft has agreed to a joint effort aimed at taking the integration of SQL Server to the next level, and the software giant will lend development resources to work on-site in Delray Beach with Ecometry’s Research and Development team. The project will focus on developing a high performance, custom database access mechanism for Ecometry application developers. “We have just scratched the surface,” added Zammuto. “With Microsoft’s technical assistance, all of our SQL Server-based clients can expect future versions of the product to greatly exceed our current benchmarks.” Microsoft has also recognized Ecometry as a Microsoft Gold Partner and has certified the Ecometry Commerce Suite for the Microsoft Enterprise Server 2003.
