NETRATINGS EXPANDS ANALYTICS TEAM WITH APPOINTMENT OF ONLINE COMMERCE EXPERT ROBERT LEATHERN

NEW YORK - July 7, 2003- NetRatings, Inc., today announced the appointment of Robert Leathern as the Nielsen//NetRatings Commerce Analytics group director and senior analyst. NetRatings, Inc. is the provider of the Nielsen//NetRatings services, which set the global standard for Internet audience measurement and analysis. Leathern will lead the Commerce Analytics group, focusing on the online retail and payments markets and providing Nielsen//NetRatings clients with comprehensive ecommerce measurement and behavior analysis.

Previously, Leathern was a lead senior analyst with Jupiter Research`s Payments and Retail practices. His extensive research background examined topics on online financial transactions for consumers and businesses, the relationship between online and offline retail channels and the behavioral habits of online shoppers. Prior to his post at Jupiter, Leathern was an investment banker at Furman Selz, later a part of the ING Group.

Leathern has lent his insight at numerous industry tradeshows and events, and is frequently quoted in top-tier publications including, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, BusinessWeek, and CNN. As a leading authority in online consumer privacy, Leathern has presented his research at the Federal Trade Commission`s Consumer Information Security Workshops.
