Evant rolls out a new multi-channel merchandising system
As retailing becomes a true multi-channel enterprise, merchandise management becomes more complex--yet more important. Making sure offerings, mix of product and presentation are right for each channel becomes key to the success of retailers.
That’s the reasoning behind the upgrade of Evant Solutions Inc.’s EM3 merchandise management product that the company rolled out today.
"Catalog and online channels have become integrated over the past year and the marketplace has told us they need tools that will not only support the unique operations of each channel, but provide the ability to consolidate plans and analytics across channels," said Sonia Austin, director of product management at Evant.
Evant is calling EM3 version 3 “the industry`s first Internet-architected multi-channel merchandising solution and the first end-to-end merchandise management solution built from the ground up to support multi-channel retailing. Release 3.0 delivers new capabilities to merchants and planners in retail and catalog companies in the areas of offer/catalog financial planning, offer/assortment planning, and catalog analytics.”
"Traditional catalog and brick and mortar planning systems were not built to support a multi-channel environment so they force businesses to adopt poor business practices based on their technology limitations,” Austin said. “EM3 offers the industry a very compelling alternative; a solution that supports with the individual requirements of each channel, while leveraging common operations across channels."
The EM3 application suite is comprised of three separate, but integrated product offerings: Vista, for inventory planning and forecasting, Prism, for merchandise transaction management, and Gemstone, for operational analytics.
