Staples takes e-procurement integration online
Framingham, MA-based Staples Inc. is taking its e-procurement system integration online, the company announced today. Staples said that companies using systems such as Ariba and Commerce One for office supply procurement will be able to use an online process to integrate their systems with Staples for online purchases next month. Staples says the integration will save customers as much as 15% on office supply procurement.

"Companies with large investments in eProcurement systems are looking to get suppliers up and running as cost efficiently and quickly as possible," said Lisa Hamblet, vice president of b2b e-commerce for Staples. "Based on Staples’ 14 years of experience with electronic procurement and early adoption of leading Internet technologies like webMethods, our corporate customers can minimize the time, effort and costs spent on utilizing their e-procurement system of choice for office supplies. The online process will include the same expert consultative approach that Staples provides to all its corporate customers."
Staples.B2B.com provides project management tools, a graphically-driven rapid implementation path and implementation accelerator based on webMethods, resource estimation guides, and a help desk. The online process is available to corporate customers with no additional costs or fees.
Staples already has integrated its business-to-business website StaplesLink.com with more than 120 customers across 20 different e-procurement systems, including Ariba, Commerce One, SAP, Oracle and Clarus.
