E-commerce and content delivery technology vendor Internap Network Services Corp. has completed its acquisition of VitalStream Holdings Inc., a rich media services vendor. Full terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The acquisition builds on Internap’s rich media and streaming audio and video services. The addition of VitalStream’s content monetization and online advertising expertise is expected to enhance Internap’s IP and data center services and better serve customers looking to transform web-based content and assets into revenue, Internap says.
The acquisition improves Internap’s ability to deliver streaming media content and will help “generate organic growth via cross-selling opportunities for streaming media and on-line advertising segments to its 3,000 customers,” the company says.
VitalStream stockholders will receive Internap common stock based on a ratio of .5132 shares for each share of VitalStream common stock owned.
