Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Selects Freeborders
Enables growth objectives to be met without increasing expenses
San Francisco – July 22, 2003 – Freeborders, Inc. today announced that Jos. A. Bank Clothiers has selected its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, including FB iPDM, FB Designer, and FB SpecNet. The menswear retailer expects to standardize and accelerate their product specification development process, improve both product consistency and quality, and enable growth without increasing expenses.
Freeborders’ PLM solutions for retail facilitate one-step product spec and BOM creation, easy technical drawing and design, and collaboration both internally and with vendors located around the globe. The modular solutions work together seamlessly to help companies address recent product development trends in the apparel business. With far-flung vendor networks and increasing cost pressures, retailers must closely manage their product development processes and accelerate them to incorporate consumer demand, fashion, and retail information in a timely manner. The results are fresher fashions, lower markdowns and improved financials.
“Freeborders’ products will allow us to further enhance our already superior product quality and maximize our long term product development targets,” said Neal Black, Executive Vice President of Merchandising & Marketing, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers. “We evaluated other solutions but decided Freeborders’ integrated PLM approach provides the most effective way for us to manage and grow our global product development activities.”
Jim Thorne, General Merchandise Manager of Tailored Clothing, said, “Freeborders combines robust enterprise software with deep apparel industry knowledge. They understand our business and the challenges and opportunities we face, and are delivering PLM solutions that will enable us to meet our goals.”
“We’re pleased with the continuing momentum we feel in the marketplace and the interest leading apparel companies have in our enterprise-class PLM solutions,” said Ramsey Walker co-CEO of Freeborders. “Freeborders is well-positioned to help new and existing brands, retailers and manufacturers secure competitive advantage by reducing costs and increasing efficiencies in the product development process.”
