MML LAUNCHES A COMPLETE ONLINE RETAIL STORE FOR RETAILER BAKERS SHOES
MarketLive(tm) Express, Customer Care Management Module, Fulfillment Module, and Custom Programming Combine to Create a Powerful End-to-End E-Commerce Presence
Petaluma, CA -- July 23, 2003 -- Multimedia Live (MML) (http://www.mmlive.com), the leading developer of e-commerce technology and services for Intelligent Selling(tm) on the Web, announced today that it has created an e-commerce website for shoe retailer Bakers Shoes (http://www.bakersshoes.com). The site runs on Multimedia Live`s MarketLive(tm) Express e-commerce application and uses Multimedia Live`s Customer Care Management and Fulfillment modules. Custom features include dynamic shop-by-size, multiple pricing on SKUs, dynamic inventory, and other Intelligent Selling(tm) features that help optimize selling opportunities and build solid customer relationships.
Bakers Shoes is a leading specialty retailer of fashion-forward footwear for hip, style-driven young women. With over 200 stores in 36 states, Bakers sells its own and many other famous-maker brands. Multimedia Live`s new site for Bakers Shoes was created to support the company`s campaign to expand its market, update its brand image, and create a comprehensive and efficient online store. The new site benefits from the MarketLive Express product`s complete feature set, its rapid design and deployment capabilities, and its easy integration with MarketLive modules that enable the rapid and cost-effective addition of mission-critical customer care and order fulfillment systems.
Bakers Shoes` new Web and telephone customer service center is equipped with MML`s Customer Care Management module (CCM). The CCM is a Web-based system that provides customer service representatives (CSRs) complete real-time access to the same backend data, business logic, and functions that power the Bakers Shoes website. Bakers Shoes CSRs use the user-friendly interface to access all customer data, product data, website images, promotions, and everything else needed to address customer inquiries, take and track orders, and perform other key customer service activities. The MarketLive Fulfillment Module strategically links the Bakers Shoes call center and website with its warehouse, providing the warehouse`s interface with the order process. As orders are generated, the Fulfillment Module receives them and automatically queues them up for picking and packing.
The Shop by Size feature permits the shopper to quickly find all shoes in her size within any category. The shopper selects her size and the category of shoe she is looking for (dress, sandals, sporty, etc.) and the site creates a list of all pertinent choices. This makes browsing fast, convenient, and accurate.
A dynamic inventory system allows the site to display only those model/size/color combinations that are currently available. Whenever inventory levels drop to a pre-set point, that item is removed from the site. If a customer selects a quantity that will exceed current stock, a dialog box appears indicating the quantity available and offering the customer the chance to purchase that quantity.
A popular Bakers Shoes program is the B Card. Customers purchase a B Card and receive a 10% discount for a year. The B Card can now be purchased online and the Bakers Shoes website will automatically apply the discount to qualified purchases until the B Card expires. B Cards purchased online can be used at retail locations too.
Other features include a mileage-based store locator, purchase/redeem e-certificates, personal accounts, full customer service capabilities, and many other standard MarketLive Express features.
"By combining the MarketLive application with optional MarketLive modules for fulfillment, customer care, and other key business functions, MML clients can get a complete start-to-finish e-commerce system that integrates Intelligent Selling techniques with complementary back-end processes," said Ken Burke, Multimedia Live President and CEO. "We designed MarketLive to be the complete solution for companies like Bakers Shoes, who want to focus on selling rather than on running a website."
