Pindar Systems and ETC launch Agile Commerce
17-Feb-2004 Pindar Systems and European Technology Consultants (ETC) announce Agile Commerce, an innovative solution for cross-channel retailing. It will assist retailers to drive profitable direct-to-consumer business by maximizing sales opportunities and reducing the complexity and costs of running existing multi-channel operations.
Agile Commerce, which is built on the IBM WebSphere technology, enables retailers to execute marketing strategies more effectively, targeting the right customer with the right offer, across any combination of channels - quickly, accurately and cost-effectively.
"With Agile Commerce, retailers can bring multiple business and technology architectures together across all their channels to market into a single, unified framework. This will ensure accelerated business growth, reduced complexity and minimized costs," explained Nigel Rzemieniecki, ETC, Business Development Director.
"By integrating sales, marketing and service operations Agile Commerce enables retailers to make the offer more relevant to the customer and profitable to the retailer as well as improving the end-to-end customer experience, thereby strengthening brand loyalty," said Andrew Dorward, Director Business Development at Pindar Systems.
Paul Smiddy, a retail analyst at RW Baird, said, "There is pressure on retailers to control costs as the top comes off consumer spending. Customer attraction and retention remain priorities. With uncontrollable costs tending to rise faster than sales, managements will continue to be under pressure to minimise controllable costs."
Agile Commerce is the result of a strategic partnership between Pindar Systems and ETC to design, develop and market integrated cross-channel solutions. Clients already benefiting from this approach to cross-channel retailing include Littlewoods, Club Med, BT and Telewest.
