RedPrairie Unveils New Network Sourcing Solution to Reduce Fulfillment Costs and Improve Service

Web-based Application Increases Supply Network Efficiency Through More Intelligent Inventory Allocation and Shipment

Waukesha, WI - RedPrairie Corporation, a leader in global supply chain technology solutions, today unveiled a new network sourcing solution that enables orders to be optimally sourced from multiple locations and suppliers to increase supply network flexibility and efficiency. The new solution, DLx® SourceRight, is a rules-based order sourcing application that integrates multiple host order management and warehouse management systems across extended supply networks to determine the best location to fulfill each order or sub-order. The result is increased efficiency, more flexible and cost-effective inventory allocation, and improved customer service.

DLx SourceRight provides user-configurable inventory allocation rules for customer requirements, distribution and supplier locations, product and facility characteristics, geographic proximity and other supply network considerations. This provides network wide visibility to orders and inventory to enable lowest cost, best service allocation and shipment, while balancing workflow. This is especially beneficial for retail store replenishment and direct to consumer operations, and is essential for available to promise environments.

Comments John Jazwiec, RedPrairie Company Leader, "Many companies do not have adequate visibility to current or expected inventory across their supply networks on which to base sourcing decisions. This often leads to orders being delayed for lack of inventory at one site that could easily be shipped from another site or supplier. Or conversely, orders frequently are shipped from the order receipt location when they could be shipped faster and more economically from locations nearer the customer. DLx SourceRight solves these and many similar sourcing problems to create more efficient and customer-focused fulfillment operations."

Adds Susan Rider, RedPrairie Customer Development Leader, "What sets DLx SourceRight apart from other sourcing applications is that it not only provides real-time visibility to current inventory across customers’ extended supply chains, it also factors in expected receipts and production on a date-sensitive basis to allocate future inventory based on customer ship dates. And because it integrates to WMS and transportation systems, allocation algorithms can be extended to take into account factors such as product aging and expiration dates, value added service requirements, workload balancing, dock door capacities and transportation costs. This brings a level of efficiency to distribution operations not previously available."

DLx SourceRight comes pre-integrated to RedPrairie’s comprehensive supply chain execution and optimization suite, with pre-built adaptors for ERP suites from SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft. It can also be easily interfaced with multiple legacy host and distribution systems to create a single sourcing solution across today’s complex, disparate distribution environments.

DLx SourceRight is currently being deployed in a retail distribution network, with general availability in April.
