FTC launches campaign advising consumers on how to shop safely online
The Federal Trade Commission has launched a campaign advising consumers on how to shop securely online and how to avoid other online fraud. The information can be found at OnGuardOnline.gov.
Educational media on the site—which include tips, articles, videos, and interactive activities—cover topics such as how to shop safely online, how to recognize Internet scams and how to avoid hackers and viruses. Retailers may link to the site using free buttons and banners that can be downloaded from the site.
The FTC also offers other free materials, including written materials that can be used for statement stuffers and newsletters.
