UBid.com names a new chairman

Online auctioneer uBid.com Holdings Inc. has named Steven Sjoblad chairman of its board of directors. Sjoblad also is chairman and CEO of Captira Analytical, provider of software, data and analytics to the criminal justice market.

He also served as the principal and owner of his own corporate strategy and marketing consulting business and previously ran the Global Consumer Services business unit for Fair Isaac Corp., an $830 million analytics company. Prior to Global Consumer Services he was interim chief marketing officer for Charter Communications, a cable company with backing from Microsoft Corp. founder Paul Allen. Sjoblad also sits on the boards of Schwan`s Foods and BenNevis, a CRM services company.

Stuart R. Romenesko, uBid`s current chairman, will remain as a director.
