Shop.org’s CyberMonday.com raises $107,000 for scholarship fund
Trade association for online retailers Shop.org, a unit of the National Retail Federation, raised more than $107,000 for the Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund during the holiday season at its affiliate marketing site CyberMonday.com. The fund has collected a total of $120,000 since its creation in January 2006.
Shop.org set up the scholarship fund to provide financial support to students interested in careers in online retail, Shop.org. “In addition, the Scholarship commemorates the life of Ray Greenly, a valued online retail industry veteran who passed away in 2005.”
According to Mall Networks, which powers CyberMonday.com, consumers spent $3.2 million through the site during the holidays.
Shop.org will form a steering committee to establish criteria for universities to receive scholarship funds to distribute to their students.
