Weis Expands Product Selection With Addition of New Online Service
SUNBURY, Pa., Aug. 7 -- Weis Markets, Inc. (NYSE:WMK) today said it has selected neXpansion`s Endless Aisle(TM) technology to expand its product offerings via the web. Branded as "Weis Extra Choices" and now available to shoppers at weismarkets.com, the service will provide Weis Markets` customers with easy online access to more than 30,000 items not available on their retail store shelves.
Using technology and fulfillment expertise from neXpansion, Weis Extra Choices will offer a virtual supermarket of non-perishable food items and general merchandise delivered straight to the customer`s door. If shoppers are seeking products above and beyond those offered in their local Weis Markets store, they can look to the online service to provide it. The assortment at Weis Extra Choices will include a wide selection of ethnic and specialty foods, baby care and beauty products, natural and organic items, pet supplies and even electronics.

To use the service, Weis Markets customers simply log onto www.weismarkets.com where they will find a link to Weis Extra Choices. Simple on-screen instructions will enable shoppers to either search for a specific item or browse the broad assortment of products and categories. If a customer is unable to locate a specific product through Weis Extra Choices, he/she can fill out an online request form, and the service will work to find the item and provide a response to the customer within 10 business days. All products purchased are shipped directly to the customer.
