SizeAppeal.com expects site redesign to triple sales

SizeAppeal.com expects its web site overhaul, which will go live later this month, to triple the company’s sales of 15,000 items per month, says Linzi Glass, co-founder of the online plus-size women’s clothing company. Guidance, a Marina Del Ray, CA-based systems integrations firm, built the SizeAppeal site makeover around Microsoft’s Commerce Server 2000, a scalable architecture that in particular enhanced the search capabilities for the web site.

"Our site had been tremendously difficult to navigate," says Glass. "But we now have many, many more ways for customers to shop, including by price, by what’s on sale, by what’s new or by our classified clothing categories. We are giving the shopper the choice to fine tune how they want to shop, which should make it a much more pleasing experience. The new system allows customers to quickly get to what they want."

Clothing categories include ChicAppeal, SexAppeal, CoolAppeal, WorkAppeal and ExtraAppeal, while new categories will include BareAppeal for lingerie and swimsuits and BuzzAppeal, which will give relevant information for plus size women.
