Shoe Carnival is going online with Global Sports

Shoe Carnival, an Evansville, IN-based retailer of value-priced footwear and accessories, will go online using Global Sports Inc. as its outsourced e-commerce provider.

Global Sports will develop and operate all facets of the new shoecarnival.com e-commerce store, including web site design, customer service, order processing, fulfillment, buying and merchandising. The new e-commerce store will feature a broad selection of family footwear and accessories and is expected to launch in the second quarter.

Shoe Carnival operates 185 stores in the Midwest, South and Southeast. It expects sales of more than $500 million this year.

Global Sports operates web sites for many sporting goods retailers, as well as Kmart Corp.’s BlueLight.com and luxury sites. This is its first foray into footwear, although it says it will build on its experience selling athletic footwear at sporting goods sites.
