Online sales grow 34% for week ending Sept. 21
Online retail spending for the week ending Sept. 21 grew 34% over the corresponding week a year ago, reaching $944 million vs. $704 million, comScore Networks Inc.’s Media Metrix division reports.
Total retail sales for the week ending Sept. 20 grew 4% year-over-year, reports ShoopperTrak’s National Retail Sales Estimate. It was the 21st consecutive week of year-over-year growth, ShopperTrak reports. That week’s growth, however, was the weakest going back to April 26. In addition, sales that week fell 1.5% from the prior week, marking the third week of week-over-week decline, ShopperTrak says.
Week-over-week online sales were up 2.6% for week ending Sept. 21.
Online travel sales for the week were up 19% to $707 million from $594 million, comScore reports.
