(Nasdaq: JDAS), the global leader in delivering integrated software and professional services for the retail demand chain, has selected SEAGULL`s Web-to-host software to enhance its JDA Portfolio™ corporate headquarters system for retailers, Merchandise Management System™ (MMS®). Delivering outstanding scalability and price/performance on the IBM iSeries server, MMS is the leading choice for global retailers wanting a cost effective, integrated solution to address their merchandising, financial and warehouse management needs.

Over 350 retailers worldwide use JDA`s MMS including such prominent companies as LensCrafters; Bed Bath & Beyond; The Sports Authority; Guess?, Inc.; Carlton Retail (American Greetings); Office Depot International; Virgin Retail Group (Virgin Megastores) and Universal Studios.

"Critical to our selection was SEAGULL`s ability to support our aggressive time-to-market objective, and proven expertise in the area of Web-to-host solutions," said Wayne Usie, senior vice president of product development for JDA. "With SEAGULL, we will be able to offer our customers a Java-based Internet or Intranet deployment of our iSeries-based retail merchandising system. Importantly, we have the security of working with the leading vendor in the market."

This initiative supports JDA`s strategic commitment to provide its customers with the retail industry`s most advanced software solutions at the lowest total cost of ownership. SEAGULL`s J Walk™ product is being used to deploy MMS with a Web user interface for all modules in the application, revised workflows to reflect the industry`s changing business processes, and business graphics features for analysis and trending, including the ability to display product images.

"JDA brings some very important end user customers in the retail sector to SEAGULL," said Kim Addington, senior vice president of marketing for SEAGULL. "JDA has a very innovative approach to delivering the best value to their customers today and into the future. They are committed to ongoing investment that preserves and enriches the domain expertise already reliably implemented in MMS. By offering a Web-based access to MMS, along with workflow reengineering enhancements, JDA is providing timely support for their customers` business requirements."

"We are impressed with the speed of development to date, and the consistently excellent support we are receiving as a SEAGULL customer," added Usie.
