DemandTec 3 Delivers Robust Integrated Pricing and
Promotion Software
SAN CARLOS, Calif. – February 4, 2002 – DemandTec

(DBM) software, today announced the launch of
DemandTec 3. For the first time, DemandTec 3
integrates pricing and promotion applications for
retailers on a patent-pending platform that delivers
advanced analytical and reporting capabilities,
provides powerful enterprise-class scalability and
performance, and offers a new intuitive graphical
interface. DemandTec 3’s applications enable retailers
to set price and promotion combinations which will
optimize net profit and sales while improving price
perception.
DemandTec 3 software analyzes consumer buying patterns
in Point of Sale (POS) data to help retailers
understand price and promotion sensitivities for every
item in every store, predict what will happen to sales
and profit when they change prices or promotions, and
execute effective strategies that best suit customer
goals for each category and each store. With
DemandTec 3, customers can now forecast the impact of
their promotion calendar with DemandTec PromotionÔ,
and are able to integrate the projected promotion
results into DemandTec PriceÔ, which will generate
base prices and business forecasts.

architecture, DemandTec 3 also eliminates scaling

performance to support the optimization needs of even
the largest retailers. This new version also enables
critical data warehouse and legacy system integration
through enterprise application integration adapters

Intuitive New Interface
DemandTec 3 now improves workflow while reducing
training and implementation time with its new
graphical interface. DemandTec 3 is now completely
web-based, and the new design allows for easy
navigation. Category and pricing managers can view
new pricing approval screens and a variety of new
reporting capabilities designed to perform “what-if”
calculations on strategy.
DemandTec 3 will be available in Spring 2002.
