Kmart Corp.’s BlueLight.com is beefing up the e-mail services it is providing to ISP customers with no increase in the monthly fee of $8.95. The expansion comes at a time that other providers of e-mail services, including many of the free ones, are considering placing restrictions on mailbox sizes. The new deal will give users 10mb of e-mail space, up from 5mb.
In addition, BlueLight customers will have the option to utilize POP mail when accessing their personal e-mail accounts. POP e-mail allows users to download mail to their computers via a desktop client such as Microsoft Outlook or Eudora.
BlueLight’s ISP services are provided by Synacor Inc. Customers pay $8.95 a month for unlimited Internet access. Kmart says the changes were in response to customer feedback.
