Shifts Focus to International Expansion and Retail Market
February 11, 2001 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Los Angeles, CA) - Despite the soft economy, iBill (Internet Billing Company, Ltd.), a global leader in online transactions processing, announced today a 47 percent increase in revenue and a 110 percent increase in signed customer agreements for 2001.
“Our growth and stability is a true testament to our business model and market leadership,” said Garrett Bender, iBill’s President and CEO. “This has been the most successful year in our history. The opening of our Los Angeles office, the acquisition of ShopEasy.com and the launch of a multi-media advertising campaign well position us for an even more successful 2002.”
iBill’s increased market presence is further demonstrated by a 75 percent increase in website traffic and an 89 percent increase in unique visits. The site’s “Getting Started” page easily directs prospective clients to the information most relevant to their needs, reducing confusion and increasing the percentage of site visitors who become customers.
“iBill’s ability to continue its advertising and marketing efforts during a tough economy are two strong indicators of stability and smart growth,” said Todd Moran, iBill’s vice president of sales. “We’ve had to increase our inside sales force four times due to the team’s inability to make outgoing calls with the influx of incoming calls.”
With iBill’s industry leadership position firmly established, the company is entering the traditional retail sector as part of its transition from small to mid and large volume sellers. iBill’s recent acquisition of ShopEasy.com , an online shopping site that utilizes live personal shoppers to suggest gifts for consumers, allows the company to extend its reach into the retail market while positioning current customers in front of ShopEasy’s 67,000 registered members.
Additionally, it plans to aggressively pursue the international market, beginning in Germany, by launching two new international payment products - International Direct Debit and Web 900 Dialer. An upgrade of online checks, iBill’s International Direct Debit allows users in certain countries to pay for iBill’s subscription services using the domestic debit system in their own country. The Web 900 Dialer is an international telephone billing product that allows clients to accept charges from any country’s domestic premium rate telephone number system.
