GSI Commerce names Patrick Vogt as head of general and specialty business
GSI Commerce Inc., a provider of e-commerce platforms and services, has named Patrick Vogt as executive vice president and head of GSI unit that serves general and specialty retailers. Vogt will help GSI’s efforts to move beyond its core of serving sporting goods retailers and manufacturers, GSI said.
Vogt will report to Robert Blyskal, who now holds the combined title of president and COO. Since early last year, Blyskal has served as COO and shared the president`s title with Michael Rubin, who will now focus solely on his duties as chairman and CEO.
Vogt has more than 18 years of experience managing, marketing, selling and conducting strategic planning for direct-to-consumer businesses. Prior to GSI, he served as senior vice president and senior general manager of Sony Corp.’s Sony eSolutions Co. LLC, where he managed Sony’s direct business for all products and customer segments. Vogt also launched Sony Electronics Inc.’s direct business.
Vogt has also served in management positions at Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc.
“Patrick’s domestic and international sales and marketing experience with large, consumer-direct businesses combined with his proven business and management skills gives us additional leadership to strengthen and help deliver on the GSI Commerce value proposition, which is to grow our partners’ e-commerce businesses faster and more profitably than they could on their own,” Blyskal said.
