Sony appoints exec to develop global online gaming business
Online games veteran David Christensen fills a newly created position at Sony Online Entertainment as vice president of business development and international operations.
Christensen will operate out of Sony’s new Los Angeles studio and report to John Needham, chief financial officer and senior vice president, Sony Online Entertainment.
"David brings a wealth of experience to his new role within SOE," Needham says John Needham. "His exceptional knowledge and insight into the global online gaming market will be an integral part of our expansion strategy moving forward both domestically and in key international markets."
Prior to joining Sony, Christensen served as vice president of business development for IGE Ltd., which operates a market for buying and selling online games at IGE.com, and director of business development for Vivendi Games, a developer, publisher and distributor of online games.
Sony’s SonyStyle.com, a retail site for consumer electronics, is No. 9 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
