New Offering Extends External and Legacy Application Integration Capabilities for Retail Industry

MONROVIA, Calif. & ORLANDO, Fla.--May 10, 2004-- In conjunction with Retek World 04, SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), provider of the world`s first fully integrated platform for the development and deployment of composite applications, today announced the availability of its eMerchant Offering for customers of Retek Inc. (Nasdaq:RETK), the leading provider of software solutions and services to the retail industry. Developed in conjunction with existing Retek customers, the eMerchant solution can significantly reduce the costs and risks for customers that require integration with non-Retek legacy applications.

The eMerchant offering is the result of a long-term partnership between the two companies, whereby Retek has leveraged SeeBeyond`s technology to enable its Retek Integration Bus (RIB) solution - an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) architecture that provides retailers with integration capabilities between Retek applications. The SeeBeyond eMerchant offering includes a packaged set of training and professional services along with a pre-built framework for customers who need to integrate Retek applications to legacy or other external applications.

"The eMerchant offering was developed through work with existing Retek customers in order to realize a low risk, rapidly deployable and cost-effective integration solution in conjunction with Retek implementations," said Jennifer McDaniel, vice president of Global Services for Retek. "The result is a robust, well-architected solution that extends and integrates with our Retek Integration Bus."

With the eMerchant solution, customers can reduce interface development times by an average factor of ten, creating new interfaces in only one to two days each. In addition, this technology foundation provides the basis for more advanced integration solutions including B2B, real-time stock management, vendor managed inventory, single customer view and multi-channel/multi-product solutions.
