Ritz launches EC outsourcing business in a deal with Great White Shark
Ritz Interactive Inc., which operates RitzCamera.com, RitzElectronics.com, BoatersWorld.com and other camera and boating web sites, will manage operations of all web sites of former professional golfer Greg Norman’s Great White Shark Enterprises. It is the first time that Ritz has agreed to operate sites outside its own company and represents the first step in a strategy of operating web sites on an outsourced basis for others, the company says.
Ritz will run the web sites, and manage marketing, fulfillment and customer service at Norman’s Shark.com and related sites, the company says. Shark.com includes retail e-commerce sites that sell Greg Norman apparel and related merchandise. The retail portion was a Yahoo store previously.
Ritz Interactive, which is a separate company from Ritz Camera, also named Norman to its Board of Directors. The company says Norman, an avid boater and fisher, will also serve as an adviser and spokesman for BoatersWorld.com. Great White Shark Enterprises does $200 million a year in revenue and includes, besides retail, a real estate development unit, a turf company, an event management company and a yachting company that features a 228-foot yacht for rent.
