eBay leads in number of visitors to home-and-garden retail sites


EBay.com led all online retailers in the number of unique visitors to home-and-garden web sites for the week ended Oct. 9, Nielsen/NetRatings reports. Its eBay Home section attracted 2.3 million unique visitors. The Home Depot came in a distant second with 678,000, followed by Lowe’s with 621,000, HGTV with 527,000 and AOL House & Home with 326,000.

HGTV recorded the most time per visit, with an average of 9 minutes, 15 seconds, followed by eBay Home with 7 minutes, 1 second; Home Depot, 6 minutes, 48 seconds; Lowe’s, 6 minutes, 40 seconds; and AOL House & Home, 3 minutes, 37 seconds.

For the same week, Procter & Gamble’s Bounty brand garnered the most online ad impressions for CPG brands, with 2.9 million, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance report.
