Albertsons.com expands inland to Texas

Albertsons Inc. is reaching beyond its core online shopping base of the Far West by expanding its Albertsons.com online grocery service to Dallas and Fort Worth. Albertsons began serving 170 ZIP codes in the area yesterday. Albertsons.com now serves nine major metropolitan areas in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Albertsons fulfills orders from supermarkets in the area. Online orders placed by 10 a.m. will be available for pick-up after 5 p.m. the same day and orders placed by midnight will be delivered or available for pick up the following day. Albertsons charges $9.95 for delivery and $4.95 for pick up at any Albertsons 101 stores in the metropolitan area. Delivery customers choose a 90-minute window in which to receive order delivery.

To kick off the program, Albertsons is featuring a month of savings at Albertsons.com. During the first week, customers who place a $100 order on Albertsons.com will receive a free case of Aquafina 16.9 oz. bottled water.

Albertsons.com originally launched in Seattle. The company has expanded online service to San Diego County, Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange County in Southern California, the Portland/Vancouver area, San Francisco Bay Area, Las Vegas, and Boise, Idaho.
