Eco Associates completes acquisition of Chipshot.com

Eco Associates has completed the acquisition of assets of Chip Shot Golf Corp., a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based online retailer of golf merchandise. Acquired assets include intellectual property, a database of more than 250,000 customers, and a robust, integrated e-commerce technology platform. A new company to be headquartered in Austin, Texas, will assume the Chipshot.com name. "Chipshot.com is a leading golf retail site with a large and loyal customer base," said Scott J. Hyten, managing general partner and chief executive officer of Eco Associates. "We plan to further develop Chipshot.com as a custom club manufacturer and golf e-tailer. We also plan to leverage Chipshot.com`s superior technology platform to broaden market reach in a number of new areas." Chipshot.com`s California operations will close at the end of March.
