SmarterKids reports growth in sales and customers in Q4

Needham, Mass-based online educational toy retailer SmarterKids.com is reporting an increase in sales in the fourth quarter. The retailer had net sales of $5.7 million in Q4 2000, a 32% increase over fourth quarter 1999 net sales of $4.3 million. The company also reports that cumulative customers increased 24% during Q4 2000 to 315,000, up from 254,000 in Q3 2000. Repeat customers accounted for 49% of total revenues during the fourth quarter 2000, up from 29% in the fourth quarter in 1999.
