Alloy goes with the SmartLabel

Alloy Inc., direct marketer of apparel for teens, has chosen Newgistics' SmartLabel returns service, Newgistics reports. Each Alloy order will come with a bar-coded label attached to the order summary. Customers who are returning items tear the label off, affix it to the package and drop it in any mailbox or leave for a carrier to pick up.

The label directs the U.S. Postal Service’s sorting system to send the package to a Newgistics consolidation facility. The service helps retailers staff their distribution centers more efficiently by allowing them to schedule additional help on days that returns come back or by holding returns at the Newgisitcs center when the distribution center wants to focus on shipping new orders, Newgistics says.

"With SmartLabel, customers can easily and quickly return or exchange merchandise purchased online or through our catalogs.
