Traffic to top shopping destinations grew 11.6% in November


Traffic to retail sites has steadily increased through the fall, with unique visitors to the top 10 shopping sites growing to 46.2 million for the week ending Nov. 23 from 41.4 million for the week ending Oct. 26, reports Nielsen/NetRatings.

The leading shopping site, eBay.com, hosted 16.58 million unique visitors, up from 15.7 million the week ending Oct. 26 and 14.4 million the week ending Sept. 21, Nielsen/NetRatings reports. No. 2 Amazon hosted 8.44 million unique visitors, up from 7.14 million a month earlier and 6.2 million the month before that.

The top 10 shopping sites, including travel destinations, and unique visitors for week ending Nov. 23, according to Nielsen/NetRatings, were:
eBay, 16.58 million
Amazon, 8.44 million
Yahoo Shopping, 4 million
Dell, 3.3 million
WalMart.com, 3 million
Shopping.com, 2.9 million
Target.com,. 2.22 million
Expedia.com, 2.21 million
BestBuy.com, 1.78 million
Travelocity.com, 1.76 million

The top 10 consumer goods advertisers and the impressions they garnered for the week, according to Nielsen/NetRatings, were:
Altria Group, 114 million
Avon Products, 71.9 million
L.L.. Bean, 50.5 million
Nestle USA, 45.6 million
Schwan’s Sales, 44.4 million
Giorgio Armani, 36.4 million
Dow Jones, 30.5 million
General Mills, 27.6 million
Colgate-Palmolive, 26.2 million
Spiegel, 25.8 million.
