Personal computers and accessories direct marketer CDW Corp. is reporting an e-commerce sales gain of 16.9% for the second quarter while total sales rose by 6.1%.
For the second quarter, web sales totaled $493.5 million compared with $422.9 million in Q1 2005. Year-over-year total sales rose to $1.63 billion from $1.54 billion.
"While we continue to profitably take market share, we remain committed to growing revenue at a faster pace,” says John A. Edwardson, chairman and CEO of CDW, No. 8 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
Overall the web represented 30% of all sales in the second quarter vs. 27% in the same quarter the previous year.
