GE Global eXchange Services launches services for trading community

GE Global eXchange Services has introduced a suite of web-based services designed to help managers of e-marketplaces and supply chain communities bring new community members on board. This suite of trading community services can help e-marketplaces achieve liquidity and can assist managers of large trading communities in enabling community members to more quickly begin electronic trading. Called Net Community Manager, the service suite is designed to remove roadblocks that can slow down or stop companies from successfully joining a supply chain community and completing b2b transactions. Web-based services that are part of Net Community Manager include:

* The ability for individual suppliers to learn about various buyers` requirements for online trading, and then purchase GXS solutions that allow them to begin trading

* Tools allowing individual suppliers to set up and test various types of online transactions with specific buyers, without the need for third-party assistance

* A cost-analysis calculator that helps buyers and sellers determine return-on-investment by comparing the cost of manual transactions against the cost of e-commerce transactions

* Reports that let community managers track the progress of their trading partner enablement programs online
