Oak Brook Terrace, IL (April 11, 2002) – Chicago-based eMac Digital L.L.C. announced today the acquisition of Apigent Solutions™, a provider of site and enterprise operations management technologies for the foodservice and retail industries. eMac Digital will support Apigent’s existing customer base, while offering Apigent-branded products and services to multi-unit restaurant and retail operators.
“eMac’s goal is to serve the restaurant industry with innovative, common sense, time saving solutions,” said Shaun Holliday, CEO of eMac Digital. “Apigent’s suite of products is an excellent fit with our vision, particularly its Web-enabled business intelligence and reporting tools.”
Also announced today, Apigent Solutions’ CEO, Jim Melvin, joins eMac as vice president, Chief Technology Officer. “Apigent’s customers will continue to enjoy the high quality products and customer service that have become our hallmark, while benefiting from eMac’s innovation, stability, and industry relationships,” Melvin states.
In addition to technology solutions, eMac Digital offers “one-stop shop” accounting and payroll processing through its wholly owned subsidiary Franchise Services Company. With the addition of Apigent Solutions, eMac continues to expand its diverse, international customer base encompassing more than 27 quick service, full service, and retail concepts accounting for more than 2,900 locations in 20 countries. Customers include Applebee’s, Costco, Hardee’s, KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and other well-known multi-unit retail concepts.
Apigent’s key employees, processes and products will be integrated into the eMac business. Apigent’s offices will be relocated to Chicago. Terms of the acquisition are not disclosed.
