E-Books In A Box Go From Bricks To Browsers
NetPack Inc. has announced that its new "e-books in a box" NetPackages will be available at retail chain stores within 45 days. The "e-books in a box" packages will open like a hard cover book, revealing a selection of book titles. After purchase, the consumer uses the NetPack Internet portal access card to access each title through an Internet browser. Irvine, Calif.-based NetPack is the creator and developer of a retail store and Internet delivery system under pending patents that allows Web-based vendors to sell e-books, virtual newspapers and software through traditional, bricks-and-mortar retail stores using the NetPack concept.
