Online jewelry retailers are turning to videocasts as a new merchandising tool. For instance, Ross-Simons Inc., No. 105 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is rolling out a video cast program for its e-commerce site.
Ross-Simons president Darrell Ross is co-hosting a new series of video programs on Ross-Simons.com with actress and jewelry designer Lauren Koslow.
"This is going to upgrade our traditional marketing practices by giving us a chance to differentiate,” Ross says.
Ice.com, No. 178 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, is also expected to make videocasts a part of its merchandising strategy in 2006.
