Redline Networks Brings Acceleration Benefits To Secure Web Sites with Three SSL Enabled Web I/O Accelerators
Campbell, Calif. – April 29, 2002 - Redline Networks, Inc., the pioneer in
Web I/O Acceleration, today announced three new accelerator appliances with
SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption. The T|X 2000, T|X 2200 and T|X 2250
Web I/O Accelerators offload I/O responsibility from web and cache servers,
optimize and reduce web payload in real-time, speed page downloads, and
support SSL. Sites realize immediate and significant cost savings and
performance improvements after installing T|X Web I/O Accelerators.
Redline Networks’ Web I/O Accelerators remove the burden of TCP connection
handling and HTTP scheduling from web and cache servers allowing faster,
higher capacity server operation. T|X Web I/O Accelerator appliances support
persistent connections to clients without placing a burden on servers, thus
helping to significantly reduce the volume of packets exchanged. The T|X
appliances pipeline and multiplex requests to servers, and can offload all
SSL processing, increasing server capacity. Redline Networks` T|X Web
Accelerators also reduce network bandwidth through data filtering and
compression.
The aggregate benefits are enormous. Redline Network’s T|X technology:
- Accelerates page download and SSL transaction times
- Reduces bandwidth needs by up to 50 percent, significantly lowering
expenses
- Increases scalability and profitability of sites by increasing the
capacity to serve pages and support SSL transactions on existing
infrastructure
SSL Included As A Standard Feature
SSL provides secure and reliable end-to-end encryption for web sites that
require a high-level of security, such as banking sites and shopping sites.
Redline Networks` T|X Accelerators offload SSL processing from web servers,
providing a significant performance boost to sites. A T|X Accelerator can
maintain encryption from both the T|X to the user`s browser and from the T|X
to the server -- allowing sites to serve secure content faster than ever
before, service more users and requests, and still cut bandwidth costs in
half.
Product Detail
Redline Networks’ T|X 2000 Web I/O Accelerator appliance is priced at US
$9,995 and is designed to accelerate a single content cluster. Up to 25,000
users can be simultaneously connected to the T|X 2000, which handles 100 SSL
transactions per second.
Redline Networks’ T|X 2200 Web I/O Accelerator appliance is priced at US
$19,995 and is designed for installation in web farms with multiple virtual
IP addresses. Up to 50,000 users can be simultaneously connected to the T|X
2200 and it supports 200 SSL transactions per second.
Redline Networks’ T|X 2250 Web I/O Accelerator appliance is priced at US
$26,995 and is also designed for installation in web farms with multiple
virtual IP addresses and a greater percentage of SSL traffic. Up to 50,000
users can be simultaneously connected to the T|X 2250, which supports up to
800 SSL transactions per second.
All three appliances are all designed for rapid installation at web sites,
with typical installation times of under one hour. Each unit is designed for
standard rack mounting in web data centers and measures 1U (19”w X 1.75”h).
Analyst Perspective
"The Web continues to grow in real business importance, while the majority
of users still connect through limited-bandwidth, dial-up lines. More users
and limited last-mile bandwidth pose a compounded performance problem:
servers overloaded by many network connections and limited data throughput,”
said Peter Christy, co-founder of NetsEdge Research. “Redline Networks
offers a unique and valuable solution to site and performance acceleration.
Their latest offering broadens the value by incorporating SSL technology and
accelerating protected content.”
About Redline Networks
Redline Networks` patent-pending Web I/O Acceleration appliances enable
companies to significantly accelerate download times and cut bandwidth costs
while increasing the transaction capacity of their existing Web
infrastructure. Deployed at sites worldwide, Redline`s appliances offload
I/O responsibility from web servers and caches and optimize content in
real-time to speed download times and deliver radically improved
performance, capacity and cost savings in the data center. Redline Networks`
customers typically experience a Return on Investment (ROI) of less than
three months. More information about Redline Networks and its products can
