RetailExchange.com names president and COO

RetailExchange.com, an online business-to-business global marketplace for excess consumer products, has appointed Frank Carpenito, a consumer products, Internet and retail industry veteran, to the position of president and chief operating officer. Carpenito, 38, will be responsible for leading and directing the company`s daily business operations, further developing its sales and marketing organization and overseeing ongoing web site and technology development. The appointment of Carpenito is part of RetailExchange.com`s continued expansion of its management team that already includes numerous retail and technology industry veterans. RetailExchange is an online exchange for off-price retail goods between retailers and manufacturers. Kenneth S. Frieze will assume the role of chairman in addition to continuing his responsibilities as the company`s chief executive officer, a position he has held since founding RetailExchange.com in July 1999. Carpenito had been CEO and president of an Internet Capital Group company Nationstreet, a web-based logistics and e-fulfillment service enabler, where he oversaw all business matters and redefined the company`s business strategy.
